I always had special love for music collected cds, loved to watch live bands performing, going to concerts so I fell in love with instruments more particular drums. I guess I got that from my father who was a drummer for most famous group ( Os Tubaroes). For some odd reason I never followed my dream of being a drummer, years passed by and I started organizing parties with two other DJ friends (Jorge and Adilson) which our intentions was to make extra money and have goodtime.
Being part of a group who organized events and being constantly around dj’s, instruments and nightlife led me to become a bit curious about learning the basics of djing. Curiosity grew daily until one day Jorge decided to take me to music store (Guitar Center) where is one of the biggest musician store. Instantly I fell in love with a DJ instrument that I couldn’t resist but to take home, explore and learn. Having the instrument at home practing daily falling in love more and more being a dj became an ultimate goal. Taking inputs from the two friends from group(Adilson and Jorge) it became easier to learn the basics and sharpening my skills. Also I took some word of advice from a cousin DJ ( Nery Nos Manera ) and (DJ Ivan LLuv) which the two was very experienced in the subject made me much more confident on persuing my goal of being a dj. If I had to say those are the ones who influenced me the most on this dj journey.
I started djing at my soccer team parties ( Fidjos Terra), house parties and cookouts. Feeling much more confidant I took another step forward doing private parties, birthdays, family events and cookouts and yet the biggest challenge was yet to come dJ at a nightclub. Honestlty it took me sometime to get over the fear of djing at a nightclub which there was no room for mistake. To get over the fear Adilson would take me to club where he was a house dj and let me play in the beginning while the club was still empty. After a couple of weeks he played a tricky game with me, he asked to me hold down the floor for a quick min while he ran to the bathroom and never came back.
Having no option I had to put fear aside and dj for the rest of the night and after a couple of songs it didn’t seem so hard and it boosted my confidence holding the floor until end of night. After that I began buying more cds, buying better dj equipments, spending more time practing, getting to know more artists and music genres I became more knowledgable about the game and what it takes to be a better dj.
